Hippolyte Broud is an Ancient World student at University College London. Coming from France, he is absolutely fond of Sacha Guitry, so much so that he usually wears the same glasses! Nevertheless, in spite of a particular taste for all that is traditional, old-fashioned and dusty, he is not insensitive to the appeal of certain contemporary productions. His only criterion when he sees a play is the intensity of the emotion it makes him feel. Like Anatole France, he thinks “the reviewer is the person who tells the adventures of his soul among the great pieces of art.”
