ohn O’Brien is a Londoner born and bred, sadly not within the sound of Bow bells so not technically a cockney. Although he was born within touching distance of The Lambeth Walk, as his mother gave birth to him at nearby St Thomas’ Hospital. He studied English at Birkbeck College. He has worked as a teacher, tutor, and researcher. He leads bespoke guided tours of London’s history and architecture He enjoys the Theatre in all its glory: opera, ballet, musicals, comedies, tragedies, and contemporary drama. He lives in Richmond
