La Clique has returned to London’s Leicester Square Spiegeltent for the festive season, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a vibrant mix of cabaret, circus, and comedy. This Olivier award-winning show continues to offer a one-of-a-kind variety performance, full of energy and excitement.

Set in the intimate Spiegeltent, the show takes place on a central stage with seating arranged around it, bringing the audience close to the action. Performers often interact with the crowd, creating an engaging atmosphere. Aerialists and acrobats deliver impressive feats, with the small space heightening the intensity of the acts. The show mixes humor, sensuality, and physical performances, resulting in an exciting and immersive experience for all.

The first act features a range of performances showcasing strength and agility. Aerialists and acrobats perform stunts that leave the audience in awe, especially a ladder-climbing routine that’s both daring and impressive. While the tap dancer, known for his appearance on America’s Got Talent, adds a familiar name to the lineup, it’s the circus-style acts that really stand out, offering visually stunning performances.

Lighting plays a significant role in enhancing the drama of the show, with strobe effects and spotlights emphasizing key moments. The music complements the performances, keeping the energy high throughout the evening. In the second act, the humor becomes bolder, with some playful and cheeky content that may be considered a bit vulgar to some. A comedic performer reading an erotic story adds a humorous break between the more physically demanding acts, fitting well with the show’s tone.

One of the more memorable moments in La Clique comes from a performer who juggles a goldfish, an act that stands out for its uniqueness and charm. The performer brings an intriguing aura to the stage, blending skill with a sense of whimsy that captivates the audience. This act exemplifies how La Clique takes traditional circus performances and adds its own twist, keeping them fresh and exciting. The show continuously surprises, taking familiar acts—like juggling and acrobatics—and making them feel new, which is likely a big reason for its lasting success.

The atmosphere and performance style can be likened to The Box Soho, with its hedonistic vibe and the provocative storylines it portrays. La Clique embraces boldness and sensuality, offering a playful and daring experience that pushes boundaries while maintaining a sense of fun. This ability to balance entertainment with edginess is what makes La Clique so enduring and a must-see for anyone looking for a unique, high-energy show.
